Enable subtitles
Here is how to enable subtitles while watching a programme on MaxiTV.
Activation steps
Step 1 — While watching a broadcast, press OK twice on the remote.
Step 2 — In the menu that appears, select Language.
Step 3 — Choose Subtitles and select the desired language (e.g. German, French) if available for that programme.
Available subtitle types
Depending on the streaming protocol used, two types of subtitles may appear:

|---|---|---|
deu / deutsch | Subtitles embedded in the DVB stream | ✅ Recommended — synchronised and accurate |
deu (Teletext) | Teletext-based subtitles | ⚠️ Outdated technology — often out of sync |
If both options are available, always prefer
deuordeutschfor a better experience.
With the OTT protocol, only the
deu/deutschoption is available — teletext subtitles are not offered.
Note
Not all programmes and channels offer subtitles. Availability depends on each broadcaster.
