☎️ Gigaset Comfort 550A IP – VoIP Configuration

Step-by-step guide to configure a MaxiConnect SIP line on the Gigaset Comfort 550A IP DECT phone via the web administration interface.

Overview

The Gigaset Comfort 550A IP is an IP DECT phone with integrated answering machine. This guide explains how to register your MaxiConnect line in 14 simple steps.

Before you start, have your SIP credentials ready — available in your customer portal at my.maxiconnect.ch.


Part 1: Connection and Web Interface Access

Step 1 — Connect your Gigaset to power and network.

Step 2 — Find the base station’s IP address (via your router interface or a network scanner), then open this address in your browser on a PC connected to the same network.

If the handset is not yet connected to the base, press the base station button for approximately 5 seconds.


Part 2: Initial Setup

Step 3 — Select your preferred language from the setup menu.

Step 4 — Choose Switzerland as the country.

Step 5 — Click Next.

Step 6 — Set a password for the base station.

Warning: Choose a password you can remember or store it securely. If forgotten, the device must be reset to factory settings and reconfigured.

Step 7 — Click Next.


Part 3: SIP Account Configuration

Step 8 — Select Manual Configuration and click Next.

Step 9 — Fill in the following fields:

Important: Use your SIP credentials, not your customer portal credentials. The SIP login name is in the format XXXXXXXXXX.XXX and is provided by MaxiConnect.

Step 10 — Enter your phone number again in national format (e.g. 021 XXX XX XX).

Step 11 — Verify that the connection status shows Registered, then click Finish.


Part 4: Firmware Update

Step 12 — Click System.

Step 13 — Click Update & Restore.

Step 14 — Enable automatic firmware updates.

If you experience configuration issues, reset the base to factory settings via the web interface:
