☎️ MaxiConnect VoIP SIP configuration guide

All MaxiConnect SIP parameters for setting up an IP phone, softphone (Zoiper, Linphone) or IPBX system: server, ports, codecs, and QoS and NAT recommendations for Switzerland.

What is VoIP?

VoIP (Voice over IP) allows you to make phone calls via your internet connection. MaxiConnect provides SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) lines compatible with the majority of IP phones, softphones and phone systems available on the market.


MaxiConnect SIP parameters

To configure your equipment, you will need the following information. These credentials are provided by MaxiConnect when your line is opened.

Supported audio codecs

MaxiConnect supports the following codecs, in order of preference:

Configuration by equipment type

The procedure is similar for all these devices:

  1. Access the web administration interface (phone’s IP address in your browser)
  2. Go to AccountAccount 1 (or line 1)
  3. Enable the account
  4. Enter the SIP parameters above
  5. Save and restart the phone

Softphone (Zoiper, Linphone, 3CX Desktop)

  1. Open the softphone
  2. Add a new SIP account
  3. Enter your SIP credentials
  4. Test by making a call to a test number

Phone system (IPBX, 3CX, FreePBX, Asterisk)

To ensure call quality:

  • QoS (Quality of Service): Enable QoS on your router by prioritising SIP traffic (port 5060) and RTP (ports 10000–20000)
  • NAT: If you are behind a NAT, enable STUN or SIP ALG on your router
  • Firewall: Open UDP ports 5060 (SIP) and 10000–20000 (RTP)

Testing your line

To test your line once configured, make a call to:

  • Your own number from another phone to check ringing
  • An external number to verify outbound calls
