Enable Dolby 5.1 Sound
Your Android TV set-top box supports Dolby Digital 5.1. Here is how to enable it.
Activation steps
Step 1 — Press the Menu (Home) button on the remote.
Step 2 — Go to Settings (gear icon in the top left).
Step 3 — Select Android Settings.
Step 4 — Choose Device Settings.
Step 5 — Scroll down and select Display & Sound.
Step 6 — Enable System Sounds (the toggle switches from grey to blue).
Step 7 — Scroll down and open Advanced Sound Settings.
Step 8 — Under format selection, choose Automatic: Use formats supported by the device and enable the option.
Important notes
Volume control with Dolby: When Dolby Digital is active, volume must be controlled via your TV or amplifier remote — the set-top box operates in passthrough mode and no longer controls the volume itself.
- Channels without Dolby use the AAC format — volume is controlled normally via the set-top box remote.
- When switching from a regular channel to a Dolby channel, the volume may suddenly jump to 100% — lower the volume on your amplifier or TV beforehand.
- Dolby may cause unpleasant sound variations depending on your setup.
- For special events (sports, concerts), it is recommended to enable Dolby on all channels to avoid acoustic differences when changing channels.
