🌐 NSN: what is it for?

The NSN (connection number) is used to connect to an existing internet line without needing an electrician.

What is the NSN?

The NSN (National Service Number, also called connection number or Anschlussnummer in German) is the unique identifier of your fixed internet connection with your current provider.

What is the NSN used for?

The NSN is used to connect to an existing internet line without needing an electrician or on-site technician.

In practice: if an internet socket is already installed at your premises (fibre, VDSL, etc.), the NSN allows MaxiConnect to activate your connection on that line remotely.

Where to find your NSN

On your paper or PDF invoice

Your monthly invoice generally contains the NSN in the header or in the “Subscription information” section. It may be labelled as:

  • NSN
  • Connection number
  • Service number
  • Anschlussnummer (invoices in German)

In your online customer account

  1. Log in to your current provider’s portal
  2. Go to the My subscription or My lines section
  3. The NSN appears in the details of your line

By contacting your current provider

Your provider is legally required to give you the NSN upon simple request.

NSN format

The NSN is a sequence of 10 digits, for example:

0311234567

The exact format varies depending on the provider and the line technology (ADSL, VDSL, fibre).
