What is the NSN?
The NSN (National Service Number, also called connection number or Anschlussnummer in German) is the unique identifier of your landline or fixed internet connection with your current provider.
It is essential when porting a landline number or migrating your internet connection to MaxiConnect.
Why does MaxiConnect need the NSN?
When porting a landline number, MaxiConnect must communicate the NSN to the losing provider (your current provider) to officially initiate the transfer. Without this number, the porting process cannot begin.
Where to find your NSN
On your paper or PDF invoice
Your monthly invoice generally contains the NSN in the header or in the “Subscription information” section. It may be labelled as:
- NSN
- Connection number
- Service number
- Anschlussnummer (invoices in German)
In your online customer account
- Log in to your current provider’s portal
- Go to the My subscription or My lines section
- The NSN appears in the details of your landline
By contacting your current provider
Your provider is legally required to give you the NSN upon simple request. Contact their customer service and specify that you need it for a number port.
NSN format
The NSN is generally a sequence of 10 to 12 characters, for example:
0311234567890
or
CH-0311234567
The exact format varies depending on the provider and the line technology (ADSL, VDSL, fibre).
