How comparison platforms work
Most online comparison platforms are funded by the operators they compare. In practice, every click or every contract signed via their platform generates a commission paid to the platform. The more an operator pays, the more prominently they are featured.
This model creates an obvious distortion: it is not the best operator that appears first, but the one that pays the most for its visibility.
Why we do not participate
At MaxiConnect, we have chosen not to fund these platforms. The reason is simple: these marketing costs inevitably feed through to the prices paid by customers.
Operators that spend millions on comparison platform rankings recoup that money somewhere — often through higher prices, temporary promotions that mask the real rate, or fixed-term contracts.
Our model: word of mouth and transparency
We prefer to invest in service quality rather than paid visibility. Our new customers come mainly:
- Through word of mouth: a satisfied customer recommending MaxiConnect to a colleague or friend
- Through our direct presence: our website, our social networks, our partners
- Through trust: customers who take the time to look for an honest operator
