New at MaxiConnect: roaming packs now tailored to each country
MaxiConnect is upgrading its roaming data packs: no more zones, now country-based rates calculated on the real cost of each destination. The result: fairer and often much cheaper prices, starting next week.
At MaxiConnect, we are constantly looking to improve our services while helping you save money.
That is why, starting next week, we are upgrading our roaming data pack system.
Good to know: this change only concerns the add-on (complementary) roaming data packs — the packs you add occasionally to browse more while abroad. It changes nothing for customers whose plan already includes data abroad: the data included in your subscription stays the same.
No more roaming zones — country-based rates instead
Until now, our roaming packs were organised by geographic zones. This system, widely used by operators, has one drawback: every country in the same zone must be offered at the same rate.
Yet the real cost of mobile data varies widely from one country to another. Some countries are very affordable, while others charge operators significantly higher rates.
To cover the most expensive countries within a zone, the pack price therefore had to be based on the highest rate, penalising destinations where costs are in fact much lower.
A fairer price for every destination
With our new system, each country will now have its own data packs and its own rates.
In practice, this means the price of your pack will be calculated based on the real roaming cost in the country where you are travelling, rather than on an entire zone.
This new approach lets us offer you far more competitive rates in many destinations.
Savings of up to several tens of percent
For many countries, this change will make it possible to enjoy noticeably better rates than before.
Depending on your destination, the savings could be significant, while keeping the same service quality and the same ease of use.
A clearer and more flexible offer
The new system will also let you choose a pack matching your destination directly, without having to work out which zone the country you are travelling to belongs to.
You simply select your destination country and choose the data pack that suits your needs.
Simpler, more transparent and, above all, more economical.
Available from next week
The rollout of the new country-based roaming packs will begin next week.
The new rates will automatically be available from your customer area as well as in our mobile app.
