What is VoLTE?
VoLTE (Voice over LTE) allows you to make HD-quality voice calls over the 4G network. Since the shutdown of the 3G network in Switzerland, VoLTE is required to use your phone line.
Requirements
- VoLTE-compatible iPhone (iPhone 6 or later)
- iOS 13 or later (iOS 16+ recommended)
- Active MaxiConnect SIM card
Enabling on iPhone
iOS 16 and recent versions
- Open Settings
- Tap Cellular
- If you have multiple SIMs, select your MaxiConnect card
- Tap Cellular Data Options
- Tap Enable LTE
- Select Voice & Data
The “Voice & Data” option enables VoLTE. If you see “Data Only”, VoLTE is disabled.
iOS 14 and iOS 15
- Open Settings
- Tap Cellular
- Tap Cellular Data Options
- Tap Enable LTE
- Select Voice & Data
iPhone with dual SIM (Nano-SIM + eSIM)
- Open Settings → Cellular
- Select the MaxiConnect line
- Tap Cellular Data Options
- Enable VoLTE or select Voice & Data
Option not visible?
- Restart the iPhone
- Verify that you are on the 4G/LTE network (visible in the status bar)
- Go to Settings → General → Software Update and install the latest iOS updates
- Remove and re-insert your SIM card
