Internet connection problems via MaxiMobile on the Swisscom network
If you're having trouble connecting to the MaxiConnect Mobile network, here are a few steps you can take to resolve the problem.
1. Restart your mobile phone
After inserting a new SIM card, it is often necessary to restart your phone. To do this
Switch your phone off completely.
Wait a few seconds before switching it back on.
This will allow the phone to detect the SIM card correctly and connect to the network.
2. Check the settings: Mobile data
Make sure that mobile data is activated. If you're abroad, check that data roaming is also enabled.
- iOS: Go to Settings > Mobile Data and make sure the option is enabled.
- Android: The location may vary depending on the version of Android, but in general you'll find this option in Settings > Connections > Mobile Data.
3. Reset network settings
If problems persist, reset your device's network settings.
- iOS: Go to Settings > General > Transfer or reset iPhone > Reset > Network settings. Enter your lock code if necessary, then restart your phone.
- Android: The procedure varies depending on the Android model and version. In general, go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings, then restart your phone.
4. Check the network selection
Make sure your network selection is set to Automatic to ensure that your smartphone can connect to a supported network, both at home and abroad.
- iOS: Go to Settings > Mobile data > Network selection, then activate Automatic selection.
- Android: You'll find this option in Settings > Connections > Mobile networks > Network providers. Make sure that Auto Select is activated.
5. Check APN settings (Switzerland)
If only mobile data isn't working, but calls are going through, it's possible that the APN (Access Point Name) settings haven't been configured automatically. Follow the steps below to check or manually configure the APN settings.
Resetting APN settings on iOS
Go to Settings > Mobile Network > Mobile Data Network.
Deactivate Use operator settings and confirm with Delete operator settings.
Click Reset settings and confirm.
Reactivate Use operator settings to obtain the correct APN settings.
Manual APN settings for iOS
If necessary, configure APN settings manually.
Go to Settings > Mobile Network > Mobile Data Network.
Enter "internet" in the APN fields under Mobile Data, LTE Configuration and Personal Access Point.
APN data :
- APN: internet
- Username: empty
- Password: blank
Note that these settings only apply in Switzerland. When abroad, switch to Use network operator settings.
Manual APN settings for Android
Open Settings > Mobile networks > Access points.
Add or change the access point and enter "internet" in the APN fields.
APN data :
- APN: internet
- Username: empty
- Password: empty
If you are abroad, you will need to reset the default APN settings.
